1. Who we are

This site is operated by Bytescope Tech, an architect-led software, data and AI engineering practice, 2nd Floor, Plot No. 665, Sahidnagar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. For the purposes of applicable data protection law, Bytescope Tech is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. 2. Information we collect

Through the enquiry form: your name, work email, company, optional phone number, the selections you make, your message, and any file you choose to attach. Through the newsletter form: your email address only. In both cases, our hosting provider additionally records standard server logs — IP address, user agent and request timestamps — for security and availability purposes. We do not knowingly collect more than this, and we do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics scripts on this site.

3. Why we process it, and our legal basis

• To respond to your enquiry and progress any engagement that follows. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to a business approach you initiated, and, once an engagement is agreed, performance of that contract.
• To send Field Notes, if you subscribed. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• To keep the site available, secure and free of abuse — for example, spam filtering on form submissions. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• To comply with a legal obligation — for example, retaining engagement records for tax or professional-liability purposes.

4. Cookies and similar technology

This site sets no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. It uses only what is strictly necessary for the pages to function. Web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a direct request to Google's servers when a page loads; Google's own privacy notice governs that request. If that matters to you, the fonts can be self-hosted on request.

We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers who process it on our behalf, and only to the extent needed to run this site or deliver work you have engaged us for:

Our service providers may process data outside the country you are located in, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for cross-border transfer — such as standard contractual clauses or an equivalent adequacy mechanism recognised under applicable law. 7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become engagements are deleted within 24 months. Engagement records are retained for the period required by our contract with you, and by tax and professional obligations after that. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on their standard operational cycle, typically a matter of weeks.

8. How we protect it

This site is served exclusively over HTTPS with HSTS enabled, and applies a restrictive Content Security Policy, frame and content-type protections at the network edge. Enquiry and newsletter data is transmitted directly to our hosting provider's form-processing infrastructure rather than a third-party script. Access to the systems where enquiry data lands is limited to people who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but these are the concrete measures in place.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to our processing of it, or to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting anything done before the withdrawal.

If you are in the UK or EU and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your national data protection supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you have equivalent rights to know, delete and correct your personal information under applicable California law, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

10. Children's privacy

This site is intended for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party links

Where this site links to a third-party site, that site's own privacy notice governs any information you provide there. This notice covers this site only.

12. Confidential and engagement material

Please do not send confidential documents through the enquiry form before an NDA is in place. Ask and we will send a mutual NDA the same day. Once an engagement begins, how we handle your code, data and intellectual property is set out in the engagement agreement and summarised in plain language on our About page.

13. Grievance officer

In accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, the contact above, hello@bytescopetech.com, also serves as our grievance officer for complaints regarding the processing of your personal data. We aim to acknowledge a grievance within 2 business days and resolve it within 30 days.

14. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice from time to time, for example when our processors or practices change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date below. This notice is a general statement of our practices; for the terms of a specific engagement, the signed agreement governs.
